Job Title: Catholic Music Director

Work Hours: Flexible, approximately 10 hours/week, up to 40 hours/month

Description

Under the guidance of the Roman Catholic Chaplain, the Music Director will provide choral and congregational musical direction for weekly and special Roman Catholic Mass services.

Key Tasks

• Direct music for 52 weekly Masses and lead 52 rehearsals.
• Provide music for up to 12 special seasonal services and lead up to 36 rehearsals.
• Submit music selections at least 14 days before services.
• Recruit a volunteer choir and conduct warm-up sessions before Mass.
• Ensure proper setup, tear down, and security of the sanctuary.
• Coordinate all rehearsals and volunteer schedules.
• Provide qualified substitutes when unavailable, ensuring continuity of services.

Requirements

• Strong musical direction and choir leadership skills.
• Flexibility for rehearsals, services, and special events, including occasional off-hours.
• Coordination with chapel staff and volunteers.

Total Work Hours:

• Weekly Mass & Rehearsals: 12 hours/month
• Staff Meetings: 12 hours/month
• Special Seasonal Services & Rehearsals: 3 hours/month
• Total: Up to 27 hours/month
