We are seeking a qualified Infection Preventionist to support the Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP) at the 374th Medical Group, Yokota Air Base. This individual will serve as the subject matter expert and lead for all infection prevention efforts across the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF), ensuring compliance with Department of Defense, Air Force, and national healthcare standards and guidelines.
This is a contract position starting in June 2025 and ending in September 2025.
⚠️ Important Note: A follow-on contract is anticipated after this period, offering the opportunity for continued employment for years to come.
Manage, coordinate, and implement the IPCP for the MTF and its associated units.
Conduct surveillance and self-assessments, ensuring compliance with AFI 44-108 and other applicable infection control guidelines.
Advise senior leadership on infection prevention issues and accreditation readiness.
Develop annual Infection Control Risk Assessments, IPC Plans, and Annual Summaries.
Participate in various MTF committees and contribute to performance improvement initiatives.
Provide training and education on IPC practices to staff, patients, and visitors.
Oversee compliance with sterilization, hand hygiene, high-level disinfection, and construction-related IPC standards.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology, or Microbiology from an accredited program.
Preferred Experience: Minimum of 3 years recent infection prevention experience within the last 4 years.
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and willingness to complete continuing education in infection prevention and control.
Must complete government-provided and contractor-funded training (e.g., EPIC course, HIPAA, OPSEC).
Must meet all security and health requirements including a National Agency Check (Tier 1) and immunizations.
U.S. citizenship required; SOFA status will be provided.
