Job Overview
On Time Staffing Group LLC is seeking an experienced IDS/ESS Designer to support an Architectural/Engineering (A/E) design project for a U.S. government client in Japan. The primary objective of this role is to develop Intrusion Detection System (IDS) and Electronic Security Systems (ESS) requirements that ensure compliance with UL2050 standards, enabling the facility to achieve Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) certification. The successful candidate will collaborate with project stakeholders to design security system specifications that meet stringent physical and electronic security mandates. The position includes Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) benefits, travel costs, and a housing allowance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and document IDS/ESS requirements to achieve UL2050 compliance and support SCIF certification.

  • Assess facility design plans and recommend security system components, including sensors, alarms, access controls, and monitoring systems.

  • Ensure integration of IDS/ESS with existing infrastructure while meeting U.S. government security standards.

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to the A/E team and client on security system specifications and compliance.

  • Conduct risk assessments and propose mitigation strategies related to intrusion detection and electronic security.

  • Prepare detailed reports, schematics, and documentation to support certification processes.

  • Participate in project meetings and site visits (as required) to validate design implementation.

Qualifications

  • Experience:

    • Entry-Level: 0-3 years in security system design, cybersecurity, or related fields (may include internships or junior roles).

    • Mid-Level: 3-7 years in security system design, cybersecurity, or related fields.

    • Senior-Level: 8+ years, with specific experience in IDS/ESS design for SCIF or similar high-security environments.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Expertise in designing Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and Electronic Security Systems (ESS) (Entry-Level may have foundational knowledge with mentorship).

    • Knowledge of UL2050 standards and SCIF certification requirements (Entry-Level may require training).

    • Familiarity with physical security systems (e.g., CCTV, access control) and cybersecurity integration.

  • Clearance: Active U.S. Secret Clearance (non-negotiable).

  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen.

  • Preferred:

    • Prior experience with U.S. military or government security projects.

    • Location in or near Misawa Air Base, Japan, or willingness to relocate from the USA.
